The modern history of Kalymnos is unbreakably connected with the sea and mainly the sponges peach. In the Naval Museum of Kalymnos you can see through the exhibits, all the history of Voutihtades until today. Skantalopetres, diving suits and a very big photographic file turn the time back and show all the historical course of the Kalymnians. Also the museum includes a big report of folklore types as traditional costumes, types of daily use and more. It is found in the beach of Pothia.

In the region of Vothinoi village you can visit the Traditional House of Kalymnos and see the way of life of a traditional family in the beginning of 20th century. The clothes, domestic utensiles, personal objects but also the configuration of house compose an exceptional atmosphere.
