Eight kilometres of north-westernly from the capital is found the settlement of Myrties.

Myrties are known because their little harbor is the base of the caiques who travel to the islet of Telendos.

Historical, the Myrties were not always coastal. It was a continental rich settlement up to 557 A.D. therefore a terrible earthquake it changed radically the ground. The settlement of Myrties sunk into the sea with the valley between Telendos and Myrties.
